
But just like all the fitness equipments there are pros and cons of exercise bikes.
The Pros:
- Since the exercise bike is kept inside therefore you can get the workout irrespective of the weather outside.
- There is a safety factor also. Since you are exercising indoors therefore you do not have to worry about cars, uneven terrain or sharp objects.
- If you get tired you can simply get off the bike and stop your workout, whereas while cycling you have to ride back home.
- Stationary bikes are much cheaper than treadmills or elliptical.
The cons:
- It only works on your lower body unlike the elliptical that allows you to target your arms and upper body.
- The exercise bikes with readouts need power therefore they are not as green as biking outdoors.
- It is easier to cheat on an exercise bike than on a real bike. You can very easily lower the resistance, avoid hills, and peddle slowly.
- The scene never changes inside therefore it can be very boring.
- The readout on the machine might not be accurate.
Pros and cons aside the exercise bike is still the most popular fitness equipment available in the market.
